Bana Pele

I designed Sandpit, Bana Pele's quarterly magazine, and built its two websites: publications.banapele.org and the new banapele.org.

Bana Pele is South Africa's movement to put children first, working towards quality early learning for every child.

I designed the first issue of Sandpit, a 52-page magazine of stories, profiles and infographics. I then turned it and the Shared Blueprint, Bana Pele's national plan, into a web library where every story and chapter reads well on any screen, with the Blueprint's diagrams building up as you read.

The new banapele.org follows the same look, with the Blueprint's 23 actions, the people behind them and a sign-up for organisations joining the movement. My role covered design, development, project management and ongoing hosting and support for both sites.

Sandpit magazine

Issue 01: 52 pages of stories, profiles and infographics, designed for print and as a PDF to share.

publications.banapele.org

A library for every issue of Sandpit and the Shared Blueprint. Each story and chapter is laid out for the web, and the Blueprint’s diagrams build up as you read.

banapele.org

The movement’s new home, in the same look: the Blueprint’s 23 actions, the people leading them and a sign-up for organisations joining.
